The League of Women Voters encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government and influences public policy through education and advocacy. The League does not support or oppose any political party or any candidate. It does, however take action on selected government issues in the public interest.
Whatever the issue, the League believes that efficient and economical government requires:

clear assignment of responsibilities
competent personnel
adequate financing
coordination among levels of government
effective enforcement
well defined channels for citizen input and revies
